Before joining CNNMoney, she worked at CNN’s New York based general assignment desk. In the fast-paced world of news, she covered everything from Bernard Madoff’s ponzi scheme to the financial crisis and the 2008 presidential election.

She later joined the business team, producing both domestic and international segments before stepping in front of the camera to cover technology. Laurie’s stories range from drone technology in Israel to technology transforming the classroom.

Laurie has interviewed key figures as their businesses started gaining traction. Her subjects range from Twitter and Instagram’s founders to the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir. She’s got an eye for discovering innovative companies and bringing their stories to the public.

When she’s not interviewing tech luminaries, Laurie still covers major breaking news events. She was in the field covering both Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Irene for CNN.

Laurie was named Forbes ‘30 under 30’ and one of Mashable’s ‘7 top journalists to subscribe to on Facebook.’ Laurie has spoken at New York’s Internet Week, Austin-based SXSW interactive conference, and has previously hosted a debate series for The Webby Awards.
